Come Dream with Us at Hatch

There’s nothing like a great night’s sleep—the cozy, wrapped-up-in-a-heavy-blanket kind of sleep. The fire-crackling, curtains-drawn, DO NOT DISTURB kind of sleep. You know, the good stuff.

But here’s the thing: while 85% of people agree sleep is the key to their well-being, more than half are unsatisfied with their own. Whether it’s stress, interruptions, work, or little ones waking in the night, so many people need help getting truly restorative rest.

That’s where we come in. At Hatch, we’re on a mission to help people build better sleep habits—so they can feel more focused, energized, and present in their lives. We’ve designed best-in-class smart sleep devices, paired with science-backed sleep content, to help people unwind nightly, sleep deeply, and wake gently. More than 5 million sleepers of all ages have made space for rest with Hatch, with our baby products in 1 in 3 nurseries and our adult product, Restore, taking over nightstands (and TikTok) worldwide.

The Opportunity

As a Lead Product Analyst, you will use data to drive product decisions, uncover opportunities to optimize the user experience, and deepen our collective understanding of Hatch customers. You will synthesize data and communicate insights, empowering the entire team–across Product, Engineering, Content and Design–to use data and analytics to reach our company objectives. This is a high-impact role that must be based in the United States or Canada. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours.

What you’ll doWithin 3 months
  • Build a solid understanding of our product experience, database, company strategies and success metrics
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to answer business questions related to both the adult and kids product experience, leveraging existing dashboards or building new ones as needed
  • Become a trusted partner to cross-functional stakeholders spanning product, design, engineering, and content to deliver clear and actionable learnings
Within 6 months
  • Define metrics, lead analyses and make data-informed recommendations about product performance and feature decisions
  • Leverage a deep understanding of internal data and tools to identify opportunities for data  curation and improvements, helping the team learn and iterate faster
  • Use your technical expertise and creative problem solving skills to develop measurement strategies and learning plans as the team ships changes to the product and business
After 1 year
  • Propose, lead, and execute projects designed to deepen our understanding of our customer, product experience, and analytical capabilities as a whole
  • Exemplify and promote best practices for experimentation, data collection and quality, and sharing actionable analyses
  • Provide thought partnership across the product and engineering organizations, helping to infuse a data-first approach throughout the development process
What you’ll bring
  • 6+ years of quantitative industry experience (analytics, data science, data engineering)
  • Extensive experience with modern analytical tools (Python, SQL, dbt etc)
  • Fluency with  data visualization platforms & technologies (Sisense, Mode, Tableau) and eye for compelling data viz to convey insights.
  • Hands-on experience with experimentation and statistical methodologies in fast-paced business and consumer facing environments.
  • Familiarity with data engineering and/or analytics engineering a plus
  • A passion for collaboration and strong cross-functional communication skills to partner effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Self-starting attitude: You drive projects from start to finish with minimal guidance and a focus on improving the customer experience.
  • Customer empathy: You believe in using data to better understand customer behavior so that we can deliver value to Hatch users.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
