The Role:

This opportunity provides a very broad range of support functions to various Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions, Separately Managed Account and National Financial clients within Fidelity. As such, and with advances in technology, the Associate needs to have an aptitude for understanding sophisticated (and changing) workflows. They need to efficiently apply their knowledge and experience to the problem or task at hand, while having an appreciation of the impact their decisions may have on other stakeholders (i.e. customers, colleagues, client service, etc.) The Associate is empowered to be decisive and creative when it comes to solving business problems provided, they are consistent with policies and procedures. As a result, their decisions can have a significant impact on customer satisfaction and overall (perceived) client service!

  • Operating under set procedures but demonstrating flexibility and creativity in making improvements and efficiencies
  • Applying open communication and collaboration throughout the group
  • Utilizing your ability to analyze a problem, obtain and evaluate information to support sound conclusions
  • Oversee and ensure timely and accurate allocations for equity and fixed income prime broker trades, and DVP/RVP Trade Aways.
  • Resolve issues with unallocated trades, incorrect allocations, money differences, trades that are not settling, clearing, or comparing, problem with confirms and bad account instructions, and closed accounts.
  • Timely and accurate resolution of all P&S trade breaks, including trade-aways and step-ins
  • Build, maintain, and grow contacts with clients and other parties involved with trade allocation, clearance, and settlement
  • Analysis of internal operations, seeking ways to improve workflows through automation
  • Minimizing operational, monetary, and reputational risk
  • Acting as Subject Matter Authority on relevant projects as needed
  • Ability to support FTP file processing by submitting whitelisting requests and triaging client requests

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

  • 1-3 years of Capital Markets or Brokerage experience, preferably in trading or middle/back-office operations
  • Strong client service skills in a high paced diverse environment
  • Encouraged to pass SIE and Series 7 within 90 days of hire
  • Analytical and project management capabilities
  • Working independently with little direct supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills are a must
  • Detailed knowledge of custody operations: such as Prime Brokerage and DVP/RVP flows
  • Confirmed understanding of comparison, clearance and settlement for fixed income products, equity, and options
  • Excellent digital literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel, including use of macros)
  • Incumbent must have good interpersonal skills, ability to process work accurately within established deadlines, customer focus, and be a standout colleague
  • Work with people across a large organization comprised of multiple business divisions
  • Aim to improve team efficiencies by applying personal experience and background

Hours may range from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Team:

The objective of the Intermediary Support Associate is to provide high quality service and support to internal Fidelity customers and Fidelity Institutional business partners, and their clients! Product coverage includes Prime Brokerage and DVP/RVP Trade Away. In support of the various clients, we work closely with other middle office, back office, trade service, and technology personnel to achieve straight through processing while minimizing risk, exposure, and errors. The team provides daily client service in a friendly and professional manner, thereby fostering long-lasting relationships with clients and their service teams. When vital, the team should use product and system knowledge to influence other internal and external partners such as technology, back office groups, compliance, legal, risk, finance, accounting, and vendors on behalf of Fidelity Capital Markets. We must adhere to and demonstrate the highest ethical standards at all times and ensure that their actions are consistent with defined policies and procedures.
