The role:

The Senior Analyst is a key member of our team here at SoFi, responsible for supporting our Credit Risk function, which develops the credit risk strategies, models, collections strategies, and implementation across various lending products.

This role reports to the Director of Business Operations and works alongside 2 other Senior Analysts. Location would prefer NYC, but fully remote is also possible.

What you’ll do: 

Commercial Payment Services (CPS)

CPS is the payments sponsorship line of business for SoFi Bank. The Bank provides access to the payment networks (Mastercard, Visa), holds deposits, and performs related risk and compliance oversight. Money movement is managed by the Bank on behalf of its partners to fund underlying accounts for card transaction volume.

  • Partner with the Commercial Payments business unit to leverage the bank's charter to offer partnership opportunities to other FinTechs by designing frameworks to assess business, strategic, and credit risks (risks)
  • Drive the development of the CPS Risk Program within the first line of defense
  • Build and maintain the risk program playbook, detailing the credit requirements for CPS partners
  • Assist in the development of the CPS risk assessment in collaboration with the 2LoD
  • Develop reporting materials that will report into critical stakeholder committee meetings
  • Develop the onboarding standards, incident handling, and other SOPs
  • Develop and execute an ongoing monitoring plan to evaluate partner and client adherence to requirements set forth in the credit program playbook
  • Proactively and collaboratively develop and monitor key control metrics
  • Define reporting requirements and strategies, and support the development of fraud risk controls (RCSA) for better program management and risk mitigation
  • Define and ensure proper documentation of RCSA to ensure proper coverage and consideration of credit risk and needed controls
  • Lead the development for the onboarding and due diligence process, Fraud Program requirements, and Fraud SAR filing criteria, specifically for CPS
  • Coordinate with and pull in the second line of defense (and other risk stripes, as warranted) to review and challenge fraud program activities
  • Identify any remaining gaps that should be addressed with additional fraud controls as needed
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between all lines of business

Ad Hoc Business Operations Projects

Work on other strategic projects as needed. Past projects include quarterly earnings presentation, regulatory task force engagement with the executive management team, etc.


What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field and 5+ years of related experience OR
  • Master's degree and 3+ years of related experience OR
  • PhD without experience OR
  • Equivalent work experience
  • Financial Services Consulting/Banking/Fintech background 
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Diligent and proactive problem solver who can come up with innovative and intuitive solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to wear multiple hats and be able to execute independently
  • Experience with spreadsheets and presentations

Nice to have:

  • Commercial underwriting experience
  • Experience working at an Issuer Sponsor Bank or Banking-as-a-service (BaaS) provider
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and working cross-functionally across different business units and functions
  • Strong experience in leading projects, working cross-functionally, and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Tableau and/or SQL experience 
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
