Role Overview

The Senior Analyst, Advertising Insights & Strategy serves as a key strategic partner to a high-value, enterprise-level financial client. This role combines hands-on data analysis with client-facing advisory work to deliver advanced advertising analytics, competitive intelligence, and macro-level market insights. Rather than focusing solely on media metrics, this analyst brings a broader market intelligence perspective, helping the client understand the consumer landscape, audience behavior, and macro trends that shape media investment. By bridging the gap between audience research and strategic execution, they ensure insights are translated into meaningful business outcomes.

  • Partner with clients, Commercial teams, and Custom Project Managers to understand business goals and key use cases, delivering tailored analytics solutions that support strategic objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of competitive advertising activity across current and emerging media channels to uncover market trends, share shifts, and creative strategy changes, leveraging MediaRadar paid media data and key public sources.
  • Customize, normalize, and transform complex datasets to align with clients’ market perspectives, producing clear narratives and actionable insights.
  • Design, implement, and oversee advanced, client-tailored reporting and analytics solutions—such as line-of-business landscape analyses, share-of-spend reports, and other customized insights, including ad hoc requests—to inform strategic planning and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity by validating accuracy, investigating anomalies, and troubleshooting discrepancies.

Client Engagement & Consulting (≈40%)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders within research and competitive intelligence teams.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify business priorities, create tailored analytics solutions, and prepare statements of work for each engagement.
  • Lead presentations and consultation sessions to deliver insights.
  • Partner with account and product teams to communicate client feedback and influence roadmap priorities.
  • Partner with clients to coordinate priorities, ensure timely delivery of work, and maintain accurate records of hours spent on each project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Media/Communications, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in advertising analytics, consulting, market research, media agency strategy, and/or competitive intelligence.
  • Strong command of advertising metrics and media performance analytics
  • Proficiency with ad intelligence and data visualization tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead client conversations and present to senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, structured problem-solving approach, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Deep Financial Sector Expertise: Proven experience working with large-scale enterprise clients in the financial services space, with a strong, hands-on understanding of complex financial products (e.g., Business Banking, Credit Cards, Wealth Management) and a working familiarity with adjacent high-value sectors like Telecom.
  • Market Research & Intelligence Background: Ideally coming from a major market research firm, audience measurement company, or martech environment, with a proven track record of synthesizing macro-level consumer insights, audience acquisition trends, and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Macro-Perspective Advisory: Ability to go beyond standard advertising and media metrics to advise client stakeholders on the broader consumer environment—answering the "why" behind audience behaviors and guiding client strategies based on macroeconomic and audience shifts.

Benefits

In addition to career progression, training and development, and an excellent work/life balance, future Radarians can expect a great benefits package that includes:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
