The Importance of the Role

Sarepta Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer to join our technology teams. This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational member of a new innovative team that will drive adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning across the organization. The successful candidate will deliver prioritized AI/ML use cases—initially focused on R&D workflows and expanding into clinical and regulatory use cases as capabilities mature—while operating within enterprise architecture, governance, and data standards. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem framing, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

  • Use Case Delivery and Implementation: Design, build, and deploy scalable and robust machine learning models embedded in real workflows, with measurable outcomes.
  • Solution Evaluation and Implementation: Evaluate internal approaches and vendor-provided AI/ML technologies as needed, ensuring solutions meet scientific and business requirements and align to approved platforms.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders from R&D, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments to understand needs and translate them into data science questions and production solutions; provide guidance and enablement to colleagues.
  • Data and Infrastructure: Work closely with IT, Enterprise Data Systems (EDS), and data engineering teams to ensure the availability, quality, and governed use of data required for AI/ML initiatives.
  • Governance and Traceability: Ensure outputs are explainable where appropriate, traceable, reproducible, and aligned with established governance and validation expectations, including adherence to enterprise data governance standards.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of advances in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science; explore practical approaches that can be applied to Sarepta’s business challenges.
