Job Overview:
We're looking for a passionate AI Hardware Verification Methodology Engineer to join our team.
You will build AI-enabled automation that makes Arm digital hardware verification engineers drastically improve efficiency across their work assignments thereby improving Arm's cycle time. You'll bridge deep hardware verification domain knowledge with LLM-based tooling and partner with Architects to apply AI-powered new tools and techniques, at-scale, and transform the day to day working of Arm engineering team.
About the Team
We are the PE AI team, and we focus on improving engineering productivity through smart technology. We work across hardware and software projects, partnering with teams to embed AI into their workflows.
What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
  • Contribute hands-on Toward the development of AI-based solutions for Hardware Verification automation.
  • Curate/develop solutions based on OpenAI Codex skills and tool integrations (e.g., simulation flows, log analysis, code review/refactor support).
  • Collaborate with Arm Engineering teams to capture real engineering struggles and turn them into clear requirements.
  • Build quick prototypes and evaluate EDA AI tools, to validate feasibility and quantify impact.
  • Drive adoption as a change leader: run demos/workshops; Contribute onboarding guides; Identify and remove adoption blockers.

Skills We're Looking For
  • Hands on experience with design verification methodology: Deep understanding of RTL design, interfaces between RTL, testbench and Verification IP, experience with debugging compile and simulation issues.
  • Experience with EDA vendor tooling: Domain knowledge of at least one (of the three major) EDA vendor toolset.
  • LLM + AI tooling fluency: Practical experience using LLMs for engineering automation (prompt design/iteration, structured outputs, tool use).
  • Strong problem solving attitude: you can quickly diagnose why something doesn't work in a real environment and drive resolution across teams.
  • Clear written communication: can turn ambiguous conversations into requirements and actionable plans.

Bonus Points If You Have
  • Automation / scripting: Strong in at least one scripting language (Python preferred). Ability to integrate and orchestrate tools (parsing logs/reports, running flows, collecting results).
  • Experience in an Application Engineer / internal customer-facing role where you translated user needs into working solutions.
  • Familiarity with agentic workflows, skills, tool calling patterns

What success looks like in 6-12 months
  • Arm Hardware engineers can point to real workflow time saved (cycle time, debug time, triage effort) and product quality improvements (number of bugs found, PPA improvements) with credible evidence.
  • Prototypes rapidly prove value or stop quickly with clear learning.
  • Teams onboard quickly and stick with it: adoption grows because friction is removed and value is obvious.

Salary Range:
$156,500-$211,700 per year
We value people as individuals and our dedication is to reward people competitively and equitably for the work they do and the skills and experience they bring to Arm. Salary is only one component of Arm's offering. The total reward package will be shared with candidates during the recruitment and selection process.

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
