The Opportunity:

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide array of accounting functions, including invoicing, collections, vendor invoice processing, month-end close, and statutory reporting. The initial focus of this position will be the migration of historical accounting data into our new internal ERP system (such as QuickBooks). Upon successful completion of migration, the role will transition into a full-time position as the company’s Controller, with expanded responsibilities in financial oversight and leadership.

What You'll Own:
  • ERP Data Migration (primary focus for remainder of 2026):

    • Migrate and reconcile historical accounting data from legacy systems to the new ERP platform (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite).

    • The company has 5 legal entities to manage and consolidate although only 2 of the 5 have payroll activities.

    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all migrated financial records.

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve data discrepancies during migration.

  • Invoicing & Collections:

    • Prepare and issue customer invoices in a timely manner (one invoicing cycle per month).

    • Monitor accounts receivable and proactively follow up on outstanding balances.

    • Coordinate with clients to resolve billing issues and ensure prompt collections.

  • Vendor Invoice Processing:

    • Review, code, and process vendor invoices for payment.

    • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.

    • Communicate with vendors to address discrepancies or queries.

    • Record payment on invoices as either prepaid expenses where appropriate and amortize to income statement over the life of the service period.

  • Month-End Close:

    • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as needed.

    • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure financial statements are accurate and timely.

    • Assist with internal and external audits as required.

  • Statutory Reporting:

    • Prepare and file required financial reports in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    • Support tax filings and coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary.

Experience You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Proven experience handling end-to-end accounting functions, including invoicing, collections, payables, and reporting.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and data migration projects.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity.

Career Progression

This role starts with focus on the critical project of migrating historical accounting data to our new ERP system. Upon the successful completion of this phase, the position will have the opportunity to oversee the accounting function, driving process improvements, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary between $110,000 - $120,000 depending on location and experience. You will also receive an equity grant and benefits of which Blueberry covers 99% of the premiums. Employees also receive a free Blueberry member subscription.
