  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
  • Assist in monthly updates to the financial model, ensuring all data from the general ledger is accurately reflected.
  • Execute month-end close processes, balancing all accounts before updating the financial model.
  • Manage and oversee daily treasury activities, including monitoring and reconciling bank accounts.
  • Process payments for vendor invoices, government regulatory agencies, and other financial obligations.
  • Manage vendor setup and payment processing through Bill.com.
  • Handle PayPal reimbursements and ensure timely payments.
  • Lead the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and successful audit.
  • Maintain strong relationships with auditors and tax advisors to ensure best practices.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests and analyses as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, audit, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, and Excel including Pivot Tables, and VLookups
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR processes, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative in using AI tools to improve speed, clarity, and quality of work.

Our target compensation for this role is between $73,000 and $95,000, depending on experience. If your compensation expectations exceed this range, we still encourage you to apply. We're a growing company, and we’re open to evaluating the level and scope of this position.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
