UHG Corporate Services Finance is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to be part of our Accounting team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day governance and delivery of the Corporate Services suite of accounting objectives. This role will have exposure and impact at an enterprise level as a process lead for real estate transactions & accounting. This position will be a partner to customers in finance and operations to ensure that business decisions are supported by accurate accounting and are properly recorded. It is the responsibility of this position to ensure financial controls are in place, monitored and remediated when necessary.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Financial management of:
- Lease accounting: prepare, document and record lease transactions, including transactions that require technical accounting
- Fixed asset accounting and asset management: close out projects, create assets, maintain appropriate useful life of asset, manage depreciation schedules, evaluate capitalization versus expense
- A suite of real estate-based balance sheet reconciliations and their corresponding analysis, including property taxes, lease accounting, vendor accruals and reimbursement, prepaids, etc
- Unique real estate transactions to determine accounting treatment and document the conclusions. Present conclusions to internal UHG customers. Ensure transactions are properly included in the forecast
- Month-end entries and reporting & analysis in support of Corporate Services balance sheet; including accuracy of legal entity and intercompany accounting
- Assist with the consolidation & reporting of all Corporate Services results during month-end and forecast cycles
- Primary source of input for the CoStar lease accounting system; monitor and ensure accounting controls are operating effectively
- Support the Corporate Services M&A team by providing both tactical and theoretical accounting guidance to incoming acquisitions
- Partner with Corporate Services Transaction Management for lease contract review
- Audit support for Corporate Services Finance

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent field
- 2+ years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience:
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations
- Working as a member of a cross-functional team
- Supporting a month-end close process
- Providing customer support in a highly matrixed organization
- Researching US GAAP accounting policies and translating the findings into practical application
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed CPA (or expired CPA)
- Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Experience with fixed asset accounting
- Experience with CoStar lease accounting system
- PeopleSoft & Hyperion Essbase experience
