Senior Account Manager
About the Role
KBR is seeking motivated Senior Account Managers to drive engagement with Special Operations and Combatant Command military clients, as well as government agencies. In this key leadership role, you’ll be responsible for aligning KBR’s capabilities with our clients' evolving strategic priorities through market strategy execution, relationship management, and opportunity development.
You will work across diverse teams and functions to assess and pursue new business, guide capture strategies, and contribute to proposal development. This role requires excellent strategic thinking, collaborative skills, and a deep understanding of client missions in the defense space.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct opening game activities to identify markets, clients, and emerging opportunities
- Gather, document and assess client understanding through research and in-person meetings
- Identify and analyze emerging and future requirements and priorities in accordance with the organization's long-term and strategic plans.
- Develop and lead client-facing engagement campaigns for DOD and GSA AAS opportunities
- Build and strengthen relationships with clients in Special Operations, Combatant Commands, and government agencies
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities through market research and in-person engagements
- Serve as a key liaison on cross-business unit opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams (technical experts, sales, leadership) to help craft solutions and strategies
- Lead and participate in fact-finding meetings, such as discussions with clients and customers; analyze the information and report findings to leadership and pursuit team(s)
- Participate in internal reviews and color team assessments (Pink, Red, Gold Teams)
- Support the development of cost strategies and compliance documentation
- Analyze opportunities based on feasibility, ROI, and alignment with KBR’s strategic goals
- Research subjects and materials as needed to communicate accurately (e.g., to develop appropriate questions to conduct interviews)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 18+ years of experience that include 12+ years of industry experience, and 6+ years in business development
- Proven success in business development within a corporate environment
- Prior experience working with Special Operations, Combatant Commands, or the Intelligence Community
- Strong project management, research, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft 365; familiarity with SharePoint preferred
- Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FEDSIM pursuits or other large federal opportunities (>$200M)
- Background in developing marketing and business plans
- Familiarity with operational effectiveness, cost containment, and capacity utilization studies
