CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, Los Angeles, CA or Atlanta, GA.***

Are you a collaborative self-starter looking for your next opportunity as an agency lead on a major Endurance partnership? As a Senior Account Manager within Octagon’s Client Services team, you will lead day-to-day management of a long-term partnership between a global brand and a large-scale, mission-driven sports organization, overseeing year-round programming tied to a robust calendar of endurance events! This role balances strategic partnership management with hands-on execution, ensuring the brand’s objectives are integrated seamlessly into high-profile events, community initiatives, and participant experiences. The position requires exceptional client leadership, operational rigor, and the ability to navigate multi-stakeholder environments that include nonprofit partners, municipal agencies, and internal cross-functional teams.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Leads and supervises the day-to-day communication of the client’s major Endurance sponsorships
  • Build and cultivate relationships with clients, property, talent, and vendors
  • Handle talent contracts, assets, and on-site responsibilities
  • Lead client and vendor/partner status calls, providing relevant updates, ensuring strict timelines are met, and clarifying next steps
  • Provide POVs and recommendations for activation and partnership opportunities
  • Collaboration across multiple internal and external departments
  • Oversee key programming elements from planning to execution
  • Lead finance trackers, budgets, and program reconciliations
  • Create activation plans, event guidebooks, recaps, and other event-related documents
  • Oversight and management of direct reports, while also supporting career development
  • Oversee quality control of all results
  • Other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned
  • Travel to partnership events managing the client’s onsite programming - including non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 5-6 years of relevant sponsorship and/or agency experience, proven experience in endurance and running industry highly preferred, but not required
  • A strategic problem solver with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to solve problems efficiently and independently
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a dedication to developing talent underneath and around you
  • Experience delivering integrated sponsorship activations and campaigns
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work within strict timelines
  • Exceptional financial competence, including building, managing, and reconciling budgets
  • Superior verbal and written communicator - able to scale and adapt communications for different audiences to optimally and succinctly articulate agency positioning and expertise
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%)

The base range for this position is $65,000 – 75,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background pertinent experience, and qualifications
