Basil is a Boston-based tech company that started in 2020. Our product is an AI intelligence platform that helps life sciences companies unlock insights to accelerate development and reduce risk. We currently power top Medtech companies (like Medtronic, Johnson & Johnson, and more) and are growing quickly on the pharma side. We also raised a recent round to fuel our growth. 🚀

The Role

We’re hiring our first Account Executive to lead Basil's expansion into pharma. This is a high-visibility role and an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fast-paced, high-growth startup. You'll work directly with our leadership team.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and outreach to close — targeting the top 50 pharma companies
  • Build and manage a pipeline of six-figure SaaS deals, starting with pilot engagements that expand into departmental or enterprise level contracts
  • Partner closely with Basil’s product experts and leadership to tailor demos and proposals that address customer pain points
  • Develop a deep understanding of the pharma buyer landscape (Labeling, Med Affairs, Reg Affairs, Reg Intel, etc)
  • Identify new opportunities, refine messaging, and help shape go-to-market strategy as we scale.
  • Track activity and forecast revenue with accuracy in CRM.
  • Represent Basil at industry events and customer meetings (some travel required to key conferences and events).

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience, ideally selling into life sciences (pharma, biotech, or CROs)
  • Proven track record of hitting or exceeding $1M+ annual quotas
  • You are based in Boston, MA and able to commute to our office in Back Bay several days a week
  • Comfortable sourcing and closing your own deals — you’re proactive, creative, and self-driven
  • Excellent communication skills; can talk to senior pharma execs without needing to be a technical expert
  • Strong collaboration skills — you work well with internal subject-matter experts to win deals
  • Startup DNA: scrappy, fast-moving, and hungry to grow with a small team

Nice to Haves

  • Experience selling regulatory, R&D, or data intelligence solutions into pharma
  • Familiarity with FDA, EMA, or global regulatory data ecosystems
  • Background in life sciences, engineering, or business
  • Early-stage startup or first AE experience
