General Description:
The Device Technologies Department within HRL’s Sensors & Electronics Laboratory (SEL) performs research and development on next-generation electronic & opto-electronic devices. The R&D portfolio includes technologies such as Si/SiGe spin qubits, GaN RF transistors, III-V infrared detectors, and other similar innovative projects. 

This internship opportunity will support one or more of the device technology research projects by creating or modifying internally built scripts or software tools to analyze experimental data, create dashboards for broad access to such data, and work with the permanent research staff to extract insight from the data. Experimental data includes electrical test measurements, in-line characterization measurements, and failure analysis data.

Essential Duties:
Create scripts or software products using professional scripting standard practices
Test and then deploy scripts/software products
Analyze resulting data summaries for insights
Create PowerPoint presentations of insights and present those to research teams

Required Skills:
Create custom scripts or software products within a laboratory environment
Analyze electrical test data
Summarize and present results in Microsoft PowerPoint
Proficient in use of computers, programming, verbal and written communication
Professional interaction with customers/colleagues
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to work well in a team and independently

Required Education: 
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar discipline.
 
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship
Willingness to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour.
