About Splash

Splash Sports is the leading peer-to-peer sports gaming platform, offering real-money contests across 40+ states. From Survivor and Pick 'Em to QuickPicks, we're building contests for every type of fan.

Backed by top investors including Accomplice, Boston Seed, Dream Ventures, Elysian Park Ventures, Velvet Sea Ventures, and owners across the NFL, NHL, MLB, and Premier League, we're scaling fast. Our mission is simple but ambitious: bring people closer together through the gamification of live sports - and we're just getting started.

Why Splash
  • Work directly with a fast-moving team at a venture-backed sports gaming startup.
  • Be part of building a category-defining brand where your work directly moves acquisition numbers.
  • Own a channel end to end - strategy, execution, and optimization are all yours.
  • A chance to build the search infrastructure of a fast-growing consumer brand from the ground up.
Location

This is a fully remote position for candidates residing within certain states in the U.S.

The Role

Splash's Marketing team is looking for an SEM & SEO Manager with genuine depth in search - someone who has built and scaled paid search programs, knows how to drive organic growth, and is curious about where search is headed next.

You'll be the person who ensures Splash shows up when sports fans are searching for contests, survivor pools, and real-money games. That means owning Google Ads with precision and efficiency, building an organic presence that compounds over time, and staying ahead of how AI is reshaping the search landscape.

This is a build-and-run role. We need someone who can architect the strategy and execute it themselves.

What You'll Do

SEM / Paid Search

  • Plan, build, and manage Google Ads campaigns across search and display - including keyword targeting, ad copy, bidding strategy, and budget allocation.
  • Run structured A/B tests on ad copy, landing pages, and audience segments to improve CTR, conversion rate, and CAC.
  • Own the paid search funnel from click to install - you understand what happens after the click and optimize accordingly.
  • Monitor performance daily and make real-time adjustments to maximize return on ad spend.

SEO

  • Own Splash's organic search strategy end to end - keyword research, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and content planning.
  • Audit and improve site architecture, page speed, schema markup, and crawlability to maximize organic visibility.
  • Brief and collaborate with content resources to produce pages and articles that rank for high-intent sports and contest-related queries.
  • Track and report on organic traffic, rankings, and conversions - and continuously optimize based on what the data shows.
  • Build a backlink strategy that grows domain authority through relevant sports, gaming, and media partnerships.

Generative Search & What's Next

  • Stay curious about how AI is reshaping search - Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and what comes after.
  • Partner with content and product to ensure Splash's owned pages are structured to perform in both traditional and emerging search environments.
  • Bring a point of view on where search is going and what Splash should be thinking about 6-12 months from now.
What You'll Bring
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on SEM and SEO experience, with a track record of driving measurable paid and organic search growth.
  • Deep knowledge of Google Ads - you've managed real budgets and can build campaigns from scratch, not just optimize someone else's work.
  • Strong technical SEO fundamentals - you know your way around Search Console, Ahrefs or Semrush, and can read a crawl report.
  • Analytical and comfortable in data - you can pull your own reports, build dashboards, and make decisions from numbers without needing someone else to interpret for you.
  • Strong written communication - you can write and edit search content yourself when needed, not just brief others.
  • Curiosity about how AI is reshaping search. We expect adaptability, not a fully formed POV on GEO.
  • High degree of personal agency - you don't wait to be told what to do, you identify a problem, figure it out, and deliver, start to finish.
  • Sports fan a plus - understanding the language and culture of sports fans makes everything you build more effective.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in consumer apps, gaming, DFS, or sports media
  • Familiarity with App Store Optimization (ASO)
  • Experience with programmatic SEO or large-scale content operations
  • Knowledge of affiliate or partnership-driven link building
How We Work

Splash provides the AI environment. You bring the domain expertise, curiosity, and adaptability.

Compensation & Benefits

As a Splash team member, you'll receive a comprehensive compensation and benefits package that includes:

  • A competitive annual salary range of $100,000-135,000. This range may be modified, and final compensation may vary based on experience and skill level
  • Potential to earn equity in the company
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance
  • 401K/Retirement Plan Options
  • Flexible PTO
  • Annual company retreats & team offsites
  • A work from home stipend
  • Frequent company-wide games with cash prizes
  • An exciting opportunity to be a part of the fast-growing fantasy sports industry, where you'll help drive the growth of a platform used by millions of fans across the country!

Splash is committed to creating an inclusive work environment. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants regardless of gender, gender identity, race, religion, color, nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, marital status, veteran status, age or disability.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
