Security Engineer, Spam & Abuse, Level 5

We’re looking for a Security Engineer, Spam & Abuse to join Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

• Identify and analyze anomalies related to spam and abuse.

• Build scalable and innovative solutions to detect and mitigate spam & abuse.

• Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, security operations, and product management, to proactively address spam and abuse.

• Assist with Spam & Abuse or Security incidents as needed.

• Contribute to the team’s roadmap and mentor junior engineers.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven impact in spam & abuse or other security fields

• Strong software engineering skills (e.g. Golang, Java)

• Strong big data skills (e.g. BigQuery, colab)

• Solid cross-team, written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to do production quality software engineering

• Passion for learning and helping others

• Excitement for user privacy and security

Minimum qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field

• ​​6+ years of experience in a security or software engineering role

• Strong development knowledge with a proven track record in developing production quality software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on spam & abuse or related security fields

• Experience leading a project or a team

• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
