As a Security Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Cybersecurity Operations, you serve as a seasoned member of a team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. Carry out critical technology solutions with tamper-proof, audit defensible methods across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives
Job responsibilities
  • Executes security solutions design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to apply knowledge of existing security solutions to satisfy security requirements for internal clients (e.g., product, platform, application owners)
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on security engineering, computer science, or data science concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, .Net( C# ) or Python.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience developing security engineering solutions.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Knowledge on AI / ML is a plus
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Proven experience with modern frontend framework and libraries such as React is a plus.
  • Good experience on writing unit tests in Java and React JS for a highly complex enterprise environment.
