SUMMARY
We're looking for a mid-level SecOps Engineer (SecOps Engineer II) to join our lean but highly impactful DevOps organization. This team plays a unique and critical role at Artera by operating at the intersection of DevOps and Information Security, ensuring that security is embedded into our infrastructure, tools, and processes from the ground up. As part of a distinct SecOps function, you'll act as a key connector between engineering execution and secure operations—translating InfoSec objectives into day-to-day implementation across cloud infrastructure and tooling.
In this role, you'll help standardize our security posture by maintaining and improving vulnerability management practices, documenting controls and remediation, and ensuring the timely resolution of security alerts and compliance items. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams like DevOps, InfoSec, and Engineering, and will be instrumental in helping Artera maintain its FedRAMP and commercial compliance goals. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into tools, automating processes, and playing a strategic role in operational security with room to grow in multiple career directions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and triage alerts from security tools such as GuardDuty, CarbonBlack, AlienVault, and Network Firewall
- Help build and standardize repeatable processes for handling and documenting vulnerabilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, InfoSec, and other teams to ensure timely security remediations and control implementations
- Maintain and update cloud infrastructure security controls, particularly in AWS environments (e.g., S3, Lambda, EC2)
- Contribute to infrastructure automation and scripting to improve speed and accuracy of security responses
- Create and maintain documentation that supports audits, change management, and security reviews
- Support infrastructure patching, change control, and system updates in accordance with compliance requirements
- Participate in regular SecOps and InfoSec meetings to align on cross-team goals
- Track security-related tickets, monitor resolution timelines, and support audit readiness
- Stay current on threat trends, compliance expectations, and cloud security best practices
REQUIREMENTS
- 4+ years of experience in a technical operations or security role
- Hands-on experience with SIEM and security tooling (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection)
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS (e.g., GuardDuty, Firewall Manager)
- Familiarity with scripting in Python, Bash, or similar
- Proven ability to document technical processes and maintain audit-ready records
- Experience with vulnerability triage, remediation, and patching of servers or cloud assets
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance (required for federal work)
BONUS
- Experience with tools like AlienVault, Wazuh, Tenable, or Ansible
- Exposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP
- Background in infrastructure deployment or configuration management
