Summary:

Fusion is seeking a hands-on, data-obsessed Search Marketing Specialist to lead both the strategy and execution of paid and organic search across traditional and emerging discovery channels. This role is not about managing campaigns. It is about building a discoverability engine. With more than 700,000 product pages and a rapidly expanding digital footprint, you will work across Google Ads, SEO, GA4, and next generation search tools to drive qualified traffic and revenue. Search is evolving fast. Buyers are no longer just typing into Google. They are snapping photos, asking AI, and browsing discovery feeds. Whether someone is searching through ChatGPT, Perplexity, or TikTok, your job is to make sure Fusion shows up the moment they are looking for a product and to turn that urgency into sales.

As an open market distributor of electronic components, timing is everything. Our customers find us when their production lines are at risk and parts are in short supply. This role is central to spotting those signals, understanding what buyers are searching for, and surfacing the right products, promotions, and messaging in real-time.

You are a strategist with sharp instincts and strong execution. You are in the data every day, building campaigns from scratch, wiring up analytics, testing messages, and uncovering new channels before others even know they exist. Most of all, you are focused on business outcomes. Your work will directly influence how buyers find us and how quickly we convert their attention into revenue.

This is a high impact role that sits at the center of Fusion’s growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Intelligence & Revenue Opportunity

  • Act as Fusion’s digital radar detecting where demand is moving and how to meet it profitably
  • Monitor keyword and search trends to identify real-time customer needs and component shortages
  • Surface product-level insights to influence promotions, merchandising, and inventory prioritization
  • Help the team proactively position deals and offers aligned with high-demand, low-availability parts

Search & Paid Media Execution

  • Launch, manage, and optimize cost-efficient campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Shopping, Performance Max)
  • Write and test high-converting ad copy, refine keyword targeting, and scale winning structures
  • Build scalable, feed-based campaign architectures to support 700K+ SKUs

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Audit and optimize product pages for technical SEO, metadata, internal linking, and content relevance
  • Partner with product and content teams on keyword-driven landing pages
  • Monitor rankings, address SEO gaps, and act quickly on performance shifts

AI-Powered & Visual Search Innovation

  • Stay ahead of evolving search behaviors from Google SGE to visual search (Google Lens, Pinterest) and AI discovery (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Brave, TikTok Search)
  • Experiment with new tools and discovery interfaces that impact B2B product search
  • Identify and act on strategic opportunities to increase Fusion’s visibility across non-traditional platforms

Analytics & Reporting

  • Configure GA4 for accurate tracking, including events, goals, attribution models, and funnel reporting
  • Build performance dashboards in Looker Studio (or similar tools)
  • Tie every campaign and optimization back to KPIs: qualified traffic, conversion rates, cost-per-click, and ROAS

Ideal Candidate

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in paid search, SEO, or search-focused performance marketing
  • Proven ability to drive results with Google Ads, Shopping feeds, and GA4
  • Skilled in both technical SEO and on-page optimization at scale
  • Excited by how AI and visual search are transforming product discovery
  • Highly attuned to market signals and very comfortable translating search trends into revenue-driving insights
  • Strong analytical thinker with the ability to turn data insights into strategy and execution action
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment

Why This Role Matters

  • You’re not just building website traffic spikes, you’re building a long-lasting discoverability and demand engine
  • You’ll define how Fusion shows up in the world across traditional and emerging search platforms
  • Your insights will help drive sales impact and revenue
  • Your work will support customers when it matters most: when supply chains are stressed and urgency is high

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • 401K benefits with company match
  • Short- & Long-Term Disability
  • EAP
  • Emergency Travel & Identity Theft Protection

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)

  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
