PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTION

As an SDET at PSTrax, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions on the PSTrax SaaS application.  You will be an integral member of our Engineering & Innovation team and collaborate closely with software engineers and product management to design, implement, and execute comprehensive manual test plans, automate testing processes, and identify and report defects. Your contributions will directly impact the overall quality and success of our software engineering and customer experience on the platform.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Test Planning and Strategy:
    • Collaborate with product managers and software engineers to understand project requirements and create detailed test plans, acceptance criteria, and test result reporting.
    • Define test strategies, methodologies, and test cases for both manual and automated testing.
    • Identify and prioritize test cases based on code coverage, risk analysis, and customer impact.
  2. Test Automation:
    • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard automated test tools.
    • Continuously improve test automation practices to increase efficiency and coverage.
    • Execute and monitor automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects.
  3. Manual Testing:
    • Conduct thorough manual testing when required, ensuring comprehensive test coverage across both the legacy code and new development code.
    • Perform thorough regression testing during the development cycle to validate software changes prior to deployment.
    • Document test cases, test results, and defects in a clear and organized manner.
  4. Defect Management:
    • Identify, report, and prioritize defects, working closely with engineers to facilitate timely resolution.
    • Verify and validate bug fixes to ensure issues are resolved satisfactorily.
  5. Artificial Intelligence Tools:
    • Utilize the latest advancements in AI to implement improvements in testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in QA and testing.
  6. Telemetry Analysis Systems:
    • Participate in implementation and integration of high-fidelity system telemetry.  Identify areas within the code base where detailed telemetry analysis is needed and implement code to accomplish real-time data collection and monitoring. 
  7. User Engagement:
    • Integrate user monitoring tools like User Pilot and Google Analytics to monitor and analyze user activity, implement A/B testing, and analyze user behaviors.

  • Understanding of human centric design principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

COMPENSATION & OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Location: Fully remote - must be physically located in USA only
  • Annual salary: $80,000 - $110,000
