Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Possesses a solid understanding of how agile and waterfall frameworks work to deliver business value and how various practices can and should evolve.
- Cultivates customer focus as the team collaborates to deliver solutions achieving the desired business outcome.
- Helps teams self-organize and self-manage using collaborative engagement techniques.
- Acts as a coach who works within the team to maximize the value created.
- Responsible for the planning and facilitation of standard meetings to include; backlog preparation, iteration planning, retrospectives, iteration reviews and daily stand-ups.
- Facilitates the sizing of stories during the planning sprint, backlog grooming, or sprint planning sessions for the team.
- Utilizes the team "definition of done" to guide the team during their sprint commitments.
- Leverages defined metrics to enable continuous delivery, provide transparency and to optimize the value of iterative and incremental development.
- Effectively facilitates retrospectives to pull actionable changes for the team.
- Works with the product owner and stakeholders to determine staffing requirements.
- Removes impediments, and makes issues and problems visible. Escalates as necessary.
What your background should look like
Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-7 years of Scrum Master experience
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM or related certification strongly preferred)
- SAFe Agile experience recommended
- 3+ years of information technology experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Information Systems or Engineering; or equivalent work experience
Skillsets & Technical Requirements:
Competent Level Understanding of:
- Agile and waterfall methodologies, values, and procedures
- Technically complex projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Relevant business software (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, Clarity, MS Project, Team Foundation Server, Jira)
- Possesses the ability to balance a willingness to engage with ideas different from their own, encouragement of others to express divergent perspectives, the capability to influence, conflict management, and teamwork.
- Highly adaptable to changing environment.
- Situational awareness of when to listen and when to be assertive.
- Ability to work well in a face paced Enterprise environment
