Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Rheumatology team at the Cambridge Research Center (CRC). The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, experienced, adaptable, and driven scientist, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment and apply both theoretical and practical knowledge of core scientific research principles. This scientist will support in vitro research across our early- through late-stage discovery portfolio programs. Responsibilities include contributing to the design, execution, analysis, and reporting of in vitro studies that address key biological questions in rheumatic diseases, including Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA). The successful candidate will apply fundamental scientific principles to preclinical research and be proficient in laboratory techniques such as cell culture, molecular biology methods, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immune functional assays. Experience with primary human immune cells and immune-mediated disease biology is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Scientific Research: Design and execute precise in vitro experiments to advance understanding of rheumatic disease biology.
  • Lab Techniques: Skillfully use methods like pipetting, cell culture, molecular biology methods (qPCR), and flow cytometry and experience with traditional in vitro and plate-based experimentation (ELISAs, MSD, and Luminex platforms).
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret results accurately, creating reports and presentations to share with teams.
  • Protocol Development: Follow and adapt experimental protocols while implementing new methods as needed.
  • Lab Management: Maintain equipment and manage supplies to ensure efficient lab operations.
  • Literature Review: Review literature for insights that aid experimental design and contribute ideas.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-disciplinary teams, offering scientific expertise to drive project progress.
