This is an on-site and full-time position in Waltham, MA. The Team 
Alloy RNA Medicines group developed the AntiClastic platform, a novel oligonucleotide technology with a broad range of applications spanning the fields of antisense therapeutics to immunomodulating oligonucleotides. The team works closely with external drug discovery partners to accelerate the development of innovative AntiClastic RNA medicines.
The Role 
As a Scientist, you will work within the RNA Medicine team in Waltham, MA. You will also collaborate with internal/external partners on nucleic acid drug discovery projects to ensure timely execution of the experiments, and delivery of high-quality data. This role will have an autonomy owning various stakeholders, projects, and tasks in a dynamic start-up environment while keeping up the pace of Alloy. 
How You’ll Drive Impact 

  • Innovate: Develop novel assays to elucidate the mechanism of action of novel ASO formats.
  • Deliver: Design, execute, analyze, and interpret in vitro and in vivo experiments. Generate robust, high-quality data.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with internal/external partners on drug discovery projects to ensure studies are executed to meet scientific goals and timelines.

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Design and execute several molecular biology and protein techniques including, but not limited to, nucleic acid isolation, RT-qPCR, western blots and ELISA.
  • Culture various cell types including established cell lines, primary cells and iPSCs.
  • Perform a range of cell-based assays, including those utilizing microscopy and plate readers for fluorescence/luminescence detection.
  • Process mouse tissue for nucleotide extraction and downstream analysis. 
  • Operate high-throughput tools, including 96 channel electronic pipets to streamline and enhance experimental workflows.
  • Analyze data using GraphPad software and prepare presentation-ready images to effectively communicate experimental findings.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all experiments using the Benchling electronic notebook, ensuring meticulous documentation and data integrity.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Biology or related science with 1 to 3 years of additional experience in biotech/pharma.
  • Knowledge of antisense oligonucleotide modalities and their mechanism of action. Previous Experience working with ASOs is highly desirable
  • Experience designing and running molecular biology, protein and cell-based assays.

Pay Transparency
At Alloy Therapeutics, we believe in fostering trust and open communication. For this role, the estimated annual base salary range is $100,000 - $125,000 with the final offer based on factors like your experience, skills, and alignment with our needs.

Additionally, this role is eligible for equity compensation, reflecting our commitment to shared success as we work together to make better medicines.
