Reports To:

Director of Partnerships (Regional)

Role Type:

Field-Based - Weekly School Visits Required

Location:

Boston, MA (Regional) - Frequent Local & Regional Travel

Employment Type:

Full-time, Exempt

About the Role

The School Relationship Manager is a field-first role built for someone who thrives outside of the office — on campuses, in counselor offices, at parent nights, and in the community. This position is the face of our organization at the school level, responsible for deepening existing partnerships with pilot and growth schools while actively identifying and pursuing new school targets to expand our regional footprint.

Reporting directly to the Director of Partnerships in their region, the School Relationship Manager serves as the primary point of contact for their assigned school portfolio. Success in this role requires equal parts relationship-building and business development — maintaining trust with schools already in our network while consistently growing it through strategic prospecting, presentations, and community engagement.

This is a boots-on-the-ground role. If you love being in the field, building real relationships with educators and administrators, and owning a territory with genuine autonomy — this role was built for you.

This role is open to candidates who live in (or within 90 minutes of) Boston, Massachusetts.

Key ResponsibilitiesField Presence & School Visits
  • Conduct regular weekly in-person visits to assigned schools within your region, building consistent face-time with counselors, administrators, and school leadership
  • Maintain a structured visit schedule that balances time across pilot schools, growth schools, at-risk accounts, and prospective target schools
  • Use every visit to deepen relationships, surface upcoming opportunities, and reinforce the value of the partnership to key school stakeholders
  • Document visit outcomes, action items, and relationship notes in CRM tools to ensure full visibility for your Director and internal team
Pilot School, Growth School & Portfolio Management
  • Serve as the dedicated point of contact for all assigned pilot and growth schools, managing each relationship from initial onboarding through full partnership maturity
  • Understand where each school sits in the partnership lifecycle — pilot, growth, or mature — and tailor your engagement strategy accordingly to move them forward
  • Proactively check in with pilot and growth school contacts to monitor engagement, address friction points, and drive toward partnership milestones and enrollment commitments
  • For growth schools, focus on expanding depth of engagement — increasing event participation, broadening buy-in across departments, and strengthening the school's internal advocacy for the program
  • Coordinate with the CSM/REC and advising teams to ensure pilot and growth schools receive seamless support and a consistent experience across all touchpoints
  • Track performance metrics across your full portfolio and report progress to your Director, flagging risks early and proposing solutions to keep partnerships on track
  • Celebrate wins with school partners at every stage — recognizing their engagement reinforces loyalty and builds the internal champions that drive long-term partnership health
New School Prospecting & Business Development
  • Continuously identify and research new target schools within your region, building a prospecting pipeline that supports regional growth goals
  • Initiate outreach to prospective schools through warm introductions, cold outreach, regional events, and referrals from existing partners
  • Conduct discovery conversations with school leadership to understand their needs, present our program value, and qualify schools for partnership
  • Own the new school sales cycle from first contact through signed agreement, collaborating with your Director on strategy and approvals as needed
  • Stay informed on regional school district priorities, enrollment trends, and competitive landscape to sharpen prospecting strategy
Presentations & School Engagement
  • Deliver clear, engaging presentations to school counselors, department heads, and administrators that articulate program value and inspire action
  • Adapt presentation content and style to the audience — whether a one-on-one conversation with a counselor or a structured group presentation to school staff
  • Attend and participate in parent nights as agreed upon with the school — representing the organization professionally and answering questions directly from families
  • Support school-facing information sessions, orientation events, and any student-facing touchpoints that strengthen the partnership and drive enrollment
Reporting & Collaboration
  • Report directly to the Director of Partnerships in your region, maintaining regular check-ins and transparent communication on pipeline, account health, and field activity
  • Contribute to regional team meetings, sharing field insights, school feedback, and market intelligence that can benefit the broader team
  • Collaborate with the advising and CSM teams to ensure a smooth, connected experience for every school — from first contact through ongoing event participation
  • Meet or exceed regional performance targets including new school partnerships, pilot and growth school retention rates, and event enrollment contributions
What You'll Bring
  • 2–4 years of experience in field sales, account management, education outreach, or a related client-facing role
  • A natural relationship-builder — you're comfortable striking up conversations, earning trust quickly, and following through consistently
  • Comfortable presenting in front of small to mid-sized groups including school staff, parents, and administrators
  • Self-motivated and field-ready — you manage your own schedule, plan your visits strategically, and don't need to be told to get out the door
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a portfolio of schools simultaneously without dropping commitments
  • A team player who communicates proactively with their Director and cross-functional partners, keeping everyone aligned
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability and willingness to travel regularly within an assigned region
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) preferred
  • Background in education, college access, or student services a plus - but not required
