JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the School Age Site Coordinator the Assistant Group Leader will assist in supervising the program and ensuring a safe, healthy, and constructive environment for all children involved in the program. In addition, the Assistant Group Leader will ensure that all areas of responsibilities of the job reflect the mission beliefs of the Old Colony Y. S/He will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. The Assistant Group Leader will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties.
Preferred QualificationsMinimum of 16 years of age
Have a High School diploma or equivalent.
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
Evidence of physical examination within last 12 months.
Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
Ability to create and sustain a culture of excellence and work and thrive as part of a cohesive team.
Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and clean when necessary.
Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.
Strong oral communication skills required for occasional public speaking responsibilities.
Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker
