The Scheduler leads the development, maintenance, and analysis of medium-to-large, complex project schedules and provides advanced forecasting, reporting, and project controls support to internal and client stakeholders. This role requires hands-on expertise with Oracle Primavera P6, strong critical path and delay analysis capabilities, and the ability to collaborate across technical, engineering, and program management teams. The Scheduler operates independently while also mentoring junior staff and supporting continuous improvement of scheduling standards and processes.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Lead development, maintenance, and status updates of detailed and summary CPM schedules using Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Establish work breakdown structures (WBS), baseline schedules, and logic-driven activity networks aligned with contract and program requirements.
  • Manage schedules for multiple concurrent capital, infrastructure, or technology programs.
  • Review and analyze general contractor cost- and resource-loaded schedules for compliance, accuracy, and performance risk.
  • Track progress against baseline schedules and perform critical path, float, variance, and trend analysis to forecast completion dates.
  • Conduct what-if modeling, Time Impact Analyses (TIA), and recovery planning to evaluate delays and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop executive-level schedule dashboards, reports, and narrative summaries for leadership and client teams.
  • Identify schedule risks through performance and trend analysis and recommend corrective actions or workarounds.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, field teams, and business stakeholders to validate sequencing, progress, and lifecycle alignment.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits to confirm schedule accuracy and field conditions.
  • Support program controls activities, including reporting, forecasting, and performance metrics development.
  • Contribute to scheduling standards, tools, and process improvements to enhance consistency and delivery effectiveness.
  • Mentor and guide junior schedulers and project controls staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, information systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project scheduling and/or project controls across capital, infrastructure, or enterprise programs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and schedule reporting tools.
  • Experience developing, analyzing, and reviewing contractor schedules.
  • Strong understanding of CPM principles, baseline management, forecasting, and delay analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex schedule information to technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • PMP or similar certification preferred.

Additional Requirements
 
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
 
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
