DESCRIPTION:

As a SAS Programmer you execute studies generating real-world evidence to evaluate drug safety, effectiveness and value.  This is a full-time, temporary position for a fixed-term contract. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop, validate, and maintain SAS and SQL programs to support statistical analysis of real-world data (e.g., claims, EMR/EHR, registries, and observational datasets).
  • Collaborate with epidemiologists, data scientists, statisticians, and clinical researchers to define programming requirements and ensure accurate and reproducible analyses.
  • Prepare datasets for analysis, including data extraction, transformation, cleaning, and harmonization from multiple RWD sources using SAS and SQL.
  • Write complex SQL queries to retrieve, filter, and aggregate structured data in support of study cohorts and analytic datasets.
  • Perform quality control (QC) and validation of programming deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Contribute to statistical analysis plans (SAPs) and programming specifications by providing input on data structure, variable derivation, and technical feasibility.
  • Maintain a strong current knowledge base in pharmacoepidemiology, HEOR, and/or biostatistical methods as applied to observational RWE studies.

QUALIFICATIONS*

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree or equivalent experience with a computer science, mathematics, statistics, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, or health economics major preferred.
  • 4+ years of SAS and SQL programming skills and expertise in the development and implementation of statistical programming procedures.
  • Strong computer skills, detail-oriented, and able to effectively communicate, knowledge of advanced mathematics and statistics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading SAS and SQL programming projects in the pharmaceutical industry on statistical programming. 
  • Experience working with multiple types of healthcare databases relevant to pharmacoepidemiology/HEOR (claims, EMR, US and non-US, registries, etc.)
