cBEYONData + SMX is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Data Conversion Lead to support a large-scale federal S/4HANA transformation. This role will lead end-to-end data conversion strategy and execution, ensuring accurate, auditable migration of legacy data into S/4HANA. The consultant will own planning, data quality, validation, and cutover activities to support testing and go-live readiness.
Responsibilities:
- Lead S/4HANA data conversion strategy and execution from mock conversions through final production cutover
- Define and manage the integrated data conversion plan aligned with testing cycles, deployment waves, and cutover milestones
- Partner with functional leads (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, EWM, etc.) to ensure business ownership of data objects and rules
- Oversee data conversion tooling, including S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, ETL tools, and custom migration frameworks
- Define and govern data mappings, transformation logic, and business rules for master and transactional data
- Establish and enforce data quality standards for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
- Lead data validation and reconciliation to ensure converted data balances with legacy systems
- Coordinate business reviews and formal sign-offs of converted data sets
- Plan and execute data cutover activities, including mock cutovers, load sequencing, and go-live readiness
- Identify and mitigate data-related risks and dependencies impacting program timelines
- Maintain data conversion deliverables including plans, mappings, validation reports, and cutover runbooks
Required Skills & Experience:
- Active Secret level security clearance is required
- 10+ years of SAP experience with leadership responsibility for data conversion initiatives
- Proven experience leading at least one full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA data conversion
- Strong understanding of SAP data structures across Finance, Supply Chain, and Logistics
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit and ETL/integration tools
- Expertise in data mapping, transformation logic, and business rule definition
- Experience managing data quality, reconciliation, and audit-ready validation
- Proven leadership of ERP cutover planning and execution
- Strong stakeholder management, documentation, and governance skills
- Preferred Qualifications: Large - multi-entity S/4HANA deployments, SAP Activate methodology, Regulated or federal project experience & ECC to S/4HANA conversion background
