About the Role

As a Salesforce Release Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient deployment of Salesforce applications and updates within an organization. This position requires a deep understanding of Salesforce release management processes, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the release cycles to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality Salesforce solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including development, testing, and business teams, to understand release requirements.
  • Develop release plans, timelines, and communication strategies for each Salesforce release cycle.
  • Coordinate release activities across different teams to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Manage Salesforce environments, including development, testing, and production instances.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for environment synchronization, data refreshes, and sandbox utilization.
  • Lead the deployment process, including the planning, scheduling, and execution of releases.
  • Work closely with development and QA teams to validate deployment packages and resolve any deployment-related issues.
  • Utilize various DevOps tools such as Copado and Salesforce DX, or others for the seamless movement of metadata between environments.
  • Ensure compliance with Salesforce development and deployment best practices.
  • Implement and enforce version control processes to manage configuration changes effectively.
  • Work with the Salesforce team to establish and maintain release management documentation.
  • Communicate release schedules, progress, and potential risks to stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute release notes to provide comprehensive documentation of changes in each release.
  • Create and maintain release management dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in the release management lifecycle.
  • Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, features, and best practices to enhance the release management process.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Salesforce Release Manager
  • In-depth knowledge of Salesforce development, configuration, and deployment processes.
  • Experience using DevOps tools such as Copado
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
