The Role

The VP of Business Development is responsible for generating growth efforts nationally to drive the fastest growing medical group in the world. This role includes accountability for all aspects of our B2B partnerships from lead generation, pipeline management, value based care contracting and sponsor relationship management. The role will also lead organizational market intelligence to keep abreast of market dynamics and regulatory changes and evaluate new geographies for expansion and market segments for growth. The role will involve deep collaboration with executives and team members in Business Development, Market Operations, Service Operations and Service Delivery. This role is core to both the strategy and execution plan for Iora to deliver its mission to restore humanity to healthcare and deliver business performance.

The position will be based in Boston, MA and will report to the EVP Market Development and Growth and will have direct management of the Business Development team. Up to 40% travel will be required.

Specific Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Partner closely with EVP Growth in all aspects of lead generation, prospecting and the sales process
  • Develop and manage new and existing partner contracting efforts to achieve quality outcomes, revenue generation and strategic business development efforts
  • Drive lead generation, financial modeling, and negotiating key contractual terms with payers, physicians and employers for new partner relationships.
  • Responsible for annual partnership review process that ultimately drives pipeline and contracting strategy to ensure retention and growth.
  • Monitors industry and local market trends relative to value based care to influence business development retention and growth strategy
  • Assist with marketing and sales efforts to support new partnership growth
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with external partners and internal cross functional teams to help support the life cycle of new business, from prospect phase through launching new partnerships.

Qualifications

  • 10 years experience with 5 years experience in Business Development and external customer facing roles.
  • A track record for driving growth in rapidly expanding enterprise
  • Multi-unit service business background
  • Experience with Value Based Care contracting
  • Experience with Medicare and Commercial lines of business
  • Masters level degree in Business, Healthcare or related field
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry
