Our proteomic sciences solutions are transforming the understanding of human diseases through advanced protein biomarker discovery. With our innovative Olink solutionsincluding highly specific and validated assays that cover more than 5,000 proteinsour colleagues and technology empower scientists in groundbreaking research that will play a pivotal role in the future of personalized medicine. Territory is the Boston market, and must live in the greater Boston area.

Discover Impactful Work: 

The position of Sales Specialist / Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with new and existing high-level customers within both academia (clinicians, professors, etc.) and industry (pharma). The position focuses on achieving short and long-term sales objectives by identifying customer needs and providing solutions to create a long-term partnership between the customer and Olink. 

Olink requires scientific sales individuals who can communicate with customers at a well-informed and professional level offering them solutions to try and address their clinical questions related to understanding real-time biology, stratifying patients, and developing drugs. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Understand the major drivers and limitations of the market in the relevant territory.
  • Develop and maintain KOL relationships, requiring a strong scientific background.
  • Grow overall revenue from Olink Explore service and kits.
  • Map key accounts and manage existing and new biomarker discovery projects within these accounts.
  • Provide technical presentations to potential clients interested in protein biomarker discovery.
  • Present Olink applications and real-life examples with high confidence, addressing and answering technical questions.
  • Provide study design mentorship in collaboration with the Field Application Scientist team to ensure client happiness.
  • Bring creative solutions to clients and understand the value drivers within their organizations.
  • Maintain updated customer and opportunity information in Salesforce.
  • Keep knowledge of competitive products and technologies current.
  • Work closely with Sales peers, Project Coordinators, FAS, Data Scientists, and the wider organization to improve commercial success.
Keys to Success

Education

  • BSc, required. MS, or PhD or equivalent experience in Molecular Biology or a related scientific field.
Experience
  • 5 plus years of relevant sales experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven track record of performance in a customer-facing role.
  • A relevant network of contacts within the territory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
  • Upbeat, enthusiastic, and highly motivated.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong deal sheet with demonstrated ability to "close" business.
  • Open to learning from more experienced team members.
  • Willing to teach team members and share relevant experiences.
  • Technical experience with proteomics or biomarker discovery is a plus.
