About the role

JustGiving is looking for an enthusiastic and driven New Business Executive to own and drive a self-generated and partner-led pipeline of high value multi-charity and single charity event opportunities. The objective of this role is to maximize donation growth, build key relationships with stakeholders, and provide strategic support using business development skills to identify, qualify and close new opportunities.

What you'll do

The success of this role will be measured by donation growth. Your responsibilities will therefore include:

  • Uncovering and driving net new event wins from competitors, securing contract partners and driving influenceable growth from existing non-profit organizations.
  • Collaborating with prospective and existing partners to maximize engagement and increase donations.
  • Building and managing a pipeline of new business activity.
  • Accurately forecasting revenue growth and identifying commercial risks.
  • Identifying new revenue streams and opportunities for wider platform adoption.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers across relevant prospect teams, ensuring that JustGiving is always top-of-mind for fundraising.
  • Analyzing data on fundraiser and donor behavior, seasonal trends, and competitor successes; and sharing this data in an engaging way to win high value events.
  • Positioning and selling JustGiving’s Professional Services offering to elevate the successes of non-profit fundraising campaigns.
  • Representing JustGiving at internal and external industry events, becoming a recognized voice in the digital fundraising discussion.

What you'll bring

  • Strong knowledge of the nonprofit events space.
  • Target-driven: able to spot opportunities, position our products and ‘close’ when necessary.
  • An excellent relationship manager capable of developing and maintaining relationships with all levels of seniority.
  • Analytically minded and commercially aware, including being able to identify threats and risks.
  • An eloquent and compelling communicator, excited by the opportunity to present virtually and in-person, to small and large groups.
  • Adept at spotting opportunities to sell and managing a sales pipeline.
  • Resourceful and self-sufficient, you will be able to prioritize your own workload and deadlines.
  • A team player, open to undertaking ad-hoc tasks for the good of Blackbaud as a whole.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
