  • Drive the development and progression of the team's sales pipeline, providing key insights on win/loss rates, target coverage and forecast accuracy
  • Collaborate with Pre-Sales on customer discoveries and product demonstrations to ensure a compelling and consultative buying experience
  • Partner with Professional Services on statements of work (SOWs) and proposals, ensuring solutions are accurately scoped and aligned to client needs
  • Work with Marketing to shape targeted sales strategies, campaigns and go-to-market plans that generate quality pipeline
  • Oversee RFP submissions and sales campaigns, ensuring alignment across sales, services, support and product teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels to support retention and growth

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of sales management experience, ideally within the software or technology industry serving consumer goods or CPG manufacturers
  • Proven track record of leading and developing a team of sales professionals, coaching others to meet and exceed targets
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long, complex and consultative sales cycles across multiple business functions and stakeholder groups
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify client pain points, build compelling value propositions and craft tailored solutions
  • Experience collaborating with Pre-Sales, Professional Services and Marketing teams to drive cohesive go-to-market execution
  • Skilled communicator with excellent listening skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with CRM tools and a disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting and reporting

Great-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Trade Promotion Management (TPM) or Revenue Growth Management (RGM) software solutions
  • Experience working in or selling to consumer goods, food and beverage or CPG manufacturing organizations
  • Knowledge of trade spend management and return on investment (ROI) analysis within the consumer goods sector.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
