Roadrunner Venture Studios
Sales Lead - Hard Tech for Oil and Gas and Industrials
Be an Early Applicant
The Sales Lead will drive commercial growth by converting early interest into sales, managing customer relationships, and shaping the GTM strategy.
About the Company
Roadrunner Venture Studios is partnering with a stealth-stage robotics startup revolutionizing industrial maintenance through automation. Our proprietary system automates the unbolting of industrial pipe flanges, increasing safety, reducing downtime, and delivering major efficiency gains for facilities in oil & gas, petrochemicals, power, and heavy industry.
We’re building a game-changing company around a high-impact problem—and we’re looking for someone to help us bring it to market.
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Sales Lead to drive our early commercial wins and lay the foundation for long-term growth. Your mission will be to turn early interest into committed pilot and commercial customers. You’ll own outreach, sales cycles, and customer relationships—and play a critical role in shaping our GTM strategy alongside the founder and product team. Though we’re not looking for someone to manage a team (yet), you will help in developing a repeatable and scalable sales process for future sales team members.
We’re looking for a closer—someone who thrives in ambiguity, knows how to move technical enterprise deals forward, and can speak the language of oil & gas buyers.
What You’ll Do
- Own and close early sales—starting with warm leads and growing to strategic outreach
- Build relationships with operators, engineers, and procurement at major oil & gas companies
- Navigate 6–12+ month enterprise sales cycles with a high degree of autonomy
- Provide structured feedback to inform product direction, deployment design, and customer onboarding
- Represent the company in industry conversations—building trust, credibility, and momentum
Ideal Background
- Proven experience selling technical products (e.g., automation, chemicals, tools, or capital equipment) into oil & gas or heavy industry
- Deep familiarity with the culture, timelines, and buying processes in industrial settings
- Ability to engage technical buyers and operators—and close deals without a big team behind you
- Comfortable working in a high-ambiguity, early-stage startup environment
- Past success moving a product from pilot to full deployment in a field-heavy industry
- Bonus: Experience in turnarounds, shutdowns, or regional nuances in industrial procurement
