Striim, (pronounced “stream” with two i’s for integration and intelligence), is a unified data integration and streaming platform that connects clouds, data, and applications with unprecedented speed and simplicity to deliver the right data at the right time. Striim is used by enterprise companies to monitor events across any environment, build applications that drive digital transformation, and leverage true real-time analytics to provide a superior experience to their customers. At our company, we believe and expect all of our employees to operate as one with unlimited potential and dignity.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our go-to-market team, driving revenue growth across a diverse set of customers. Sales Engineers at Striim are the technical partner to the Account Executive, collaborating closely throughout the entire sales cycle — from discovery and demos to proof-of-concept (POC) deployments and technical validation.

In this role, you will act as the technical lead, ensuring Striim’s real-time data integration solutions are architected to meet each customer’s unique business and technical requirements. You’ll demonstrate thought leadership, build trusted relationships, and showcase how Striim helps enterprises move data instantly, securely, and intelligently.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical advisor throughout the sales process, designing and delivering customized solutions that address customer challenges.
  • Partner with account executives to gather a deep understanding of the customer’s architecture, system requirements, and business objectives.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and POC deployments to validate the value of Striim’s platform.
  • Provide detailed design specifications, installation guidance, and integration support during pre-sales engagements.
  • Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of Striim implementations within complex enterprise environments.
  • Build technical expertise across key data integration domains, including real-time streaming, database replication, and cloud data migration.
  • Integrate Striim with enterprise data platforms such as SQL, RDBMS, MQ messaging systems, Kafka, and modern data lake architectures.
  • Support the creation of technical documentation, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, articulating the value and differentiation of Striim’s platform.
  • Collaborate with Striim’s Product and Engineering teams to address solution gaps, influence product roadmap decisions, and deliver customer feedback.
  • Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and partner events to stay ahead of trends and strengthen Striim’s technical brand.
  • Lead by example, providing technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and contributing to a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of total work experience, with 2+ years in technical pre-sales or solution consulting roles.
  • Prior experience as a Software Engineer, Application Developer, or Database Developer.
  • Hands-on expertise with Java, Python, SQL, and REST APIs.
  • Strong understanding of database systems such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and Postgres.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, Change Data Capture (CDC), data lakes, and data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with message systems (Kafka, JMS) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Practical experience with Unix/Linux and Windows environments, plus knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, and modern cloud data stacks is highly desirable.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
  • Passion for problem-solving, simplicity, and delivering results in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Spanish fluency preferred.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
