About Camus

Camus Energy builds software solutions that helps new load and generation connect to the grid faster—without sacrificing reliability.

As electricity demand accelerates and clean energy scales, traditional interconnection processes are becoming the bottleneck. Utilities and developers face growing queues, long timelines, and costly upgrades that slow progress across the grid.

Camus enables flexible grid connections that allow new load and generation to connect sooner by planning for and operating within real system constraints. Our platform bridges the gap between grid operators and large load developers, enabling them to navigate the complex interconnection process and innovate on hybrid grid/on-site solutions to expedite path to power.

We combine high-reliability software experience from companies like Google and Meta with deep power systems expertise across the utility sector. If you’re excited to work at the intersection of infrastructure, software, and climate, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

We are seeking a self motivated Sales Director, specific to data centers, with a proven track record of navigating complex energy industry sales cycles and a mastery of high-stakes negotiation. This is not a role for a generalist; we are looking for a "closer" who thrives in the mid-to-final stages of a deal and has the strategic depth to manage sophisticated buyer environments. Expertise in positioning  an early growth phase product for commercial success is imperative.

As our Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving top-line revenue by personally leading our most impactful revenue opportunities. This role collaborates closely with teams across marketing, product and professional services to design and deliver solutions tailored to the specific needs of data centers. The successful candidate will play a central role in positioning Camus as a critical enabler of accelerated access to grid power for data center developers.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive sales strategy targeting North America's largest hyperscalers and data center developers, resulting in significant revenue growth for Camus
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets by acquiring new customers and expanding existing customer accounts, with responsibility for forecasting and pipeline management along with proposal creation.
  • Collaborate with product and professional services to define and structure complex, multi-million dollar data center agreements
  • Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with owners, operators, developers, and strategic partners
  • Test, learn, and iterate on sales strategies to drive revenue for an industry disrupting product
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, executive forums, and client engagements - expected travel is up to 20%
  • Impact climate change  and our futures through furthering Camus’ mission of decarbonizing the grid

What You’ll Bring
  • 5-7 years of experience in business development, strategic alliances, or hyperscale sales within the energy or data center industry
  • Confidence in technical selling of complex and not-fully-defined early growth phase products and solutions - you’ll have flexibility to design the best approach to meet your customer’s needs
  • Strong knowledge of power systems (including transmission and bulk power supply), grid interconnection processes, onsite generation  or related energy technologies
  • Proven ability to navigate complex contract negotiations, executive-level stakeholder management, and cross-functional team leadership
  • Passionate about transforming the grid and making an impact on climate change
  • High integrity and low ego - you are self motivated to do your best work and collaborate well with others

What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary and uncapped OTE potential
  • Comprehensive benefits, including 401k and FSA
  • Fully remote workplace with options for in office work in the Bay Area
  • Flexible PTO, which we encourage you to use!
  • 12 weeks fully paid parental leave
  • A real impact on climate change - we’re building the world we want to live in and we want you to join us!
