We are looking to welcome a new Synthegoat to the herd! The team is searching for a highly motivated and scientifically astute individual, with a passion for both engaging with clients and providing expert technical guidance in the rapidly evolving field of gene editing, to join as a Sales Development & Technical Specialist.

In this unique dual role, you will be instrumental in supporting our sales efforts by providing early-stage technical consultations to potential clients while also serving as a key technical resource for our existing customer base, ensuring their successful adoption and application of our cutting-edge genome editing solutions. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to advancing cell and gene therapies by bridging the gap between scientific expertise and commercial success within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

This position is a Remote, US-based opportunity.

What You'll Do:

  • Sales Development & Pre-Sales Technical Consultation:
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand potential client needs and provide initial technical guidance on Synthego’s Research Use Only (RUO) product portfolios.
  • Conduct introductory technical consultations with prospective clients to understand their research goals and identify how Synthego’s solutions can address their needs for CRISPR gene editing, novel nucleases, and mRNA therapeutics.
  • Assist in the early stages of the sales process by providing scientific and technical expertise, helping to qualify leads, and shaping tailored solutions.
  • Learn and effectively communicate the scientific value proposition and technical advantages of Synthego’s phase-appropriate synthetic biology products.
  • Actively participate in sales prospecting, utilizing various strategies such as email outreach, and social media engagement, to identify and cultivate potential leads, and ultimately contribute to the expansion of the customer base.

  • Technical Support & Customer Success:
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers, providing expert support via email and virtual consultations throughout the CRISPR workflow, including experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis for gRNAs, enzymes, novel nucleases, and bioinformatic tools.
  • Champion our customers' technical and scientific success by ensuring they can effectively leverage Synthego’s genome engineering products.
  • Lead quality tracking for our research-use products by coordinating with Quality and internal teams to document and resolve customer-initiated technical issues.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of CRISPR and genome engineering literature, keeping up-to-date on the latest scientific advancements and trends.
  • Support the pre-sales review and production status tracking process for highly customized products.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Life Science field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry) or equivalent experience required. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of laboratory experience in a relevant field, with hands-on experience in CRISPR or other genome editing technologies.
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology principles and cell biology workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot scientific experiments and provide effective solutions.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a strong desire to help scientists succeed.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the cell and gene therapy industry is a plus.
  • Experience in a customer-facing technical support or sales role is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and scientific advancements.
  • Travel may be required occasionally (estimated <10%).
