ROLE PURPOSE
Sales Development Representative will directly impact our vision and mission of helping students succeed by bringing more institutions and students onto the Ready Education platform through prospecting, qualifying, and discovery efforts for pipeline generation. This full-time position reports to the Sr. Director of Demand Generation and your primary objectives will be to:
- Qualifying Inbound and Outbound leads to generate new opportunities and pipeline for the sales team
- Strategic prospecting and account based selling tactics in partnership with Account Executives
In this role, you will frequently have conversations with a variety of decision makers and senior leaders at HigherEd institutions about their goals and objectives when it comes to student success, retention, engagement, and mental health. You must be comfortable with speaking on the phone, through email and excited to help these leaders shape the future of the college experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow-up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities providing appropriate levels of information at the right time for interested prospects.
- Cold call into prospects generated by a variety of sources.
- Hold intelligent and engaging conversations over the phone and email.
- Conduct thorough discovery to identify potential needs and qualify prospects to ultimately schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives.
- Perform market research on assigned territory, contributing to strategic sales approach.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing team members on strategic sales approaches.
- Ensure successful follow through of lifecycle stages of MQLs by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in our CRM application, HubSpot.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE
- 0-3 years professional experience
- Experience working within a CRM environment
- Higher education experience or software sales experience
- Broad understanding of the sales lifecycle in higher education

Although this role is 100% remote, the person in this position should be expected to travel for certain customer/industry/company events and engagements as necessary.
