We're Sharp Performance

Our mission is to extend the service-life and health span of those who run toward danger: law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, and the military community. The people who do this work pay a price for it. Agencies lose their best people to burnout and attrition, and the standard options were never built for the job.

Sharp Performance connects frontline professionals with 1:1 performance coaches through our mobile platform. Our coaches have lived the job. Our methods come from the cognitive performance world of U.S. Special Operations. We built this company from inside the community we serve.

We're backed by Andreessen Horowitz and growing fast, with new agency partnerships signing every month. The standard is high. The mission is clear. If you want your next chapter to serve the people you came from, we should talk.

The Opportunity

You're competitive. You're hungry. You know how to build relationships and you're not afraid to pick up the phone.

Sharp Performance is hiring Sales Development Representatives to help us build the next generation of public safety sales. You'll be on the front lines of our growth—identifying agencies, reaching decision-makers, starting conversations, and creating opportunities for our Account Executives.

This isn't a sit-back-and-wait role. You'll be expected to create pipeline.

You'll learn how to sell into law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other high-performance organizations while developing the skills to become an elite B2B salesperson. For the right person, this is a launching pad to an Account Executive career.

What You'll Own

You'll own the top of the sales funnel for Sharp Performance.

Your job is simple: find the right people, start conversations, qualify interest, and create opportunities.

You'll work closely with Account Executives to target agencies, develop accounts, and turn outbound activity into qualified meetings and revenue.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Create Pipeline: Identify law enforcement, fire, EMS, and first responder agencies that could benefit from Sharp Performance.
  • Prospect Relentlessly: Reach prospects through cold calls, email, LinkedIn, and other outbound channels. You're not waiting for leads to come to you.
  • Start Conversations: Get the attention of chiefs, sheriffs, command staff, training leaders, HR leaders, and other agency decision-makers.
  • Qualify Opportunities: Understand an agency's challenges around retention, morale, stress, performance, and personnel—and determine whether there's a real opportunity.
  • Book Meetings: Schedule qualified conversations with Account Executives and make sure they have the context they need to run a great first meeting.
  • Research Accounts: Learn your territory, understand your accounts, and find the people who matter.
  • Own Your Numbers: Track activity, meetings, conversion rates, and pipeline in HubSpot. Know your numbers every day.
  • Learn to Sell: Develop the skills to become an Account Executive. You'll learn prospecting, discovery, qualification, objection handling, and the fundamentals of B2B sales.

Who We're Looking For

  • Competitive & Hungry: You want to win. You're motivated by goals, competition, and the opportunity to earn more as you perform.
  • Resilient: You can hear "no" repeatedly and make the next call without losing your edge.
  • Strong Communicator: You're confident on the phone, can tell a compelling story, and know how to earn someone's attention quickly.
  • Coachability: You take feedback seriously, improve quickly, and want to become exceptional at your craft.
  • Self-Motivated: You don't need someone standing over your shoulder to make the next call.
  • Technically Proficient: Comfortable learning CRM and sales tools. HubSpot experience is a plus.
  • Sales Experience: 1–3 years as a SDR or BDR

Why You'll Want to Be Here

  • High Earning Potential: Competitive base salary with uncapped commission. Top performers earn significantly above OTE. Your output is your ceiling.
  • Mission That Matters: You're not selling software to a Fortune 500. You're helping protect the mental health of cops and firefighters who need it.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision.
  • Flexible PTO: Recharge and stay sharp, no micromanagement.
  • 401(k) with Company Match: We invest in your future.
  • Performance Coaching: Access to the same elite performance coaches we offer our clients.
  • A Team Built Like You: We're operators, first responders, and high-performers who don't accept average.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
