About the Role

Bonusly is building its first in-person sales hub in Boston, and this SDR is one of the founding seats. Your job is 100% outbound: researching accounts, building targeted sequences, running cold calls, and handing off sales-qualified opportunities to our AE team. You're not closing, you're the engine that keeps the pipeline full.

This is not a traditional SDR role. You're not cold-calling lists and hoping something lands. You're operating inside an AI-first GTM system designed to tell you exactly who to reach, when to reach them, and why they'll care. Your job is to take that intelligence and turn it into qualified conversations. Your mission: generate the high-quality pipeline that fuels our growth targets. You are AI-native, not AI-curious. You know how to use tools to do more, think faster, and run plays that a rep a year ago couldn't.

Being in the room matters here. You'll be shoulder to shoulder with the rest of the Boston team, which means faster coaching, faster reps, and a much shorter feedback loop than doing this alone from a home office.

What You'll Own

  • Cold outbound prospecting across Bonusly's ICP (mid-market HR and People leaders, 200-2,000 employees)
  • Researching target accounts using ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, and Internal intelligence tools
  • Building and running multi-touch sequences across email, phone, and LinkedIn
  • Cold calling with purpose: research before you dial, personalize what you say, track what works
  • Qualifying and booking discovery calls for our AE team
  • Hitting monthly SQO targets, tracked in HubSpot
  • Helping set the tone and habits for the Boston hub as one of its first reps

How You'll Be Measured

Your primary number is monthly SQOs, opportunities generated for the AE team. Quality matters as much as volume, the majority of meetings you book should hold up past discovery.

What We're Looking For

Must have

  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Boston area, this is an in-person role
  • 1-2 years in an SDR, BDR, or outbound-focused sales role. We're also open to meeting candidates with 0 years of experience who want to grow their career in sales
  • Strong written communication, you write like a person, not a template
  • Comfort with outbound: cold calling, email sequencing, LinkedIn outreach
  • Organized, self-directed, and accountable to a number

Nice to have

  • Experience with HubSpot, ZoomInfo, and AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) in a sales workflow
  • Prior experience selling to HR, People, or culture teams
  • A track record of sequence experimentation or outbound testing

What You'll Learn Here

We'll train you on Bonusly's full outbound playbook, ICP and persona research, sequence design, call structure, objection handling, and how to use AI tools to do more with less. If you're early in your career and want to come out of this role as a genuinely modern sales professional, this is the place to build that.

Compensation & Benefits
  • OTE: $20,000-$30,000, variable tied to monthly SQOs
  • In-person, based out of our Boston hub, daily

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
