About the Role:

Planful is looking for a Sales Development Manager to ead a team of SDR’s as we continue to scale with record-breaking growth. Reporting into Business Development leadership, this role will be responsible for coaching and developing a high-performing team focused on generating qualified pipeline.

This is a foundational front-line leadership role within Planful’s GTM organization. You will have an opportunity to help define and engage with Planful's best prospects, from directors to C-level executives across finance and accounting. Your mission will be to develop, train and hire highly driven SDRs, and help them understand how to connect with prospects, establish rapport, and —most importantly—articulate Planful’s value proposition in a clear and convincing manner. The knowledge you disseminate will be key to driving Planful’s market position as our first line of interaction with prospective customers.

You will lead, coach and develop a team of 6-10 SDR’s with a focus on establishing a high-performance culture and driving each team member’s overall career development.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, manage and mentor a rapidly growing SDR team
  • Drive high-quality pipeline generation through outbound prospecting, inbound qualification, account-based motions, and product-led signals
  • Partner closely with Sales & Marketing leadership to align to our overall GTM strategies
  • Establish strong operational rigor and performance management frameworks
  • Discover, improve, and execute new approaches to reach our audience, including events and shows, campaigns, referrals, collateral, and case studies.
  • Employ a consultative approach in assessing prospects’ needs and developing an understanding of the challenges faced by their business.

What you Bring to the Table:

  • Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of outbound prospecting and pipeline generation strategy, alongside experience successfully managing SDRs or BDR teams in the past
  • A people-first leader with great communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts in a simple way.
  • You excel in coaching and mentoring with a track record of exceeding individual and team goals
  • You are highly operational and data-driven, with experience managing critical KPI’s across activity and pipeline generation programs across the conversion funnel to identify areas to coach and roadblocks to address (low connect rates, reply rates, etc.)
  • A high-energy, ownership mindset demonstrating initiative, creativity, and a sense of urgency to build scalable outbound pipeline development playbooks.
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing, fast-paced organization selling SaaS solutions to MM/enterprise companies
  • Able to thrive in a small team with a highly dynamic work environment and switch rapidly from strategy to execution.
