Sales Consultant – Boston, MA

The Sales Consultant at Allegion is a pivotal role responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key influencers across various sectors, including education, healthcare, government, commercial markets, and multifamily projects. This position aims to maximize Allegion's market share in commercial hardware and electronic security solutions by leveraging a consultative approach to sales and collaboration with internal teams and industry stakeholders. The Sales Consultant will focus on supporting end users and multifamily decision-makers as business partners to drive demand creation, strategic alignment, and project delivery. Additional short-term responsibilities to include but not limited to support of the acquired brand AD Systems. With responsibilities that include product knowledge and potential support in quoting. In addition, become familiar with and be able to support the general pricing effort in the territory on a short-term basis.

What You Will Do:

  • Relationship Building: Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with key influencers such as end users, owners, developers, designers, general contractors, consultants, and architects to achieve annual goals.

  • Consultative Selling: Implement a consultative approach to customer relationships, listening to understand customer needs and positioning appropriate Allegion solutions.

  • Market Strategy: Maintain a strategic understanding of market conditions, trends, and product gaps. Advise Allegion teams on market strategies and prioritize new product development.

  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with Allegion teams to ensure project delivery, alignment on architectural specifications, and integration of electronic security solutions.

  • Pipeline Management: Engage in pipeline management, prioritizing accounts and demonstrating a hunter mentality to create demand for Allegion solutions.

  • Networking: Proactively network through industry events, associations, and shows to broaden influencer and end user relationships.

  • CRM Utilization: Utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool for effective team communication, market connectivity, opportunity management, and sales reporting.

  • Industry Engagement: Stay engaged in and up-to-date on industry activity through social networking and training sessions.

  • Compliance and Values: Maintain awareness of Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring compliance and embodying Allegion’s values daily.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Experience: 5+ years of sales experience or industry experience, with a preference for multifamily vertical market experience and door hardware/electronic access/security solutions.

  • Education: Degree in Sales, Business, or Marketing is a plus.

  • Skills: Self-starter mentality, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, and ability to influence others with a bias for action.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to develop knowledge of mechanical and electronic solutions, reaching an intermediate understanding of electricity and electronic components.

  • Travel: Ability to travel up to a specified percentage based on territory needs.
