Making sure that the sellers are having the right conversations at the right time is key to the company’s success, and the Sales Design & Incentives team connects strategy to seller behavior in one of the most important ways: by aligning company aspirations with seller incentives. 
 
Sales Design & Incentives (SDI) is the team at Microsoft that is responsible for the design, implementation and operations related to the sales and incentive plans across all of Microsoft, impacting 40K+ employees. Our vision is to embody best-in-class, design-to-deployment incentive compensation that inspires sellers to maximize their success and rewards and enables sustainable growth, share, and customer success. 

The Sales Compensation Implementation Manager is the connective tissue of SDI plan execution—bringing deep understanding of incentive compensation processes and tools to enable seamless cross‑functional collaboration and flawless plan implementation. You will ensure first‑mile execution excellence by orchestrating the end-to-end implementation of approved incentive plans and programs, using the benefits of AI Agents. In addition, you will engage with diverse stakeholders, manage complex relationships, and drive innovation across the organization. 


Responsibilities

First Mile Execution Excellence: 

  • Leverages AI agents to ensure implementation feasibility of incentive plans and programs, assessing financial sources and systems readiness.  
  • Implements incentive compensation plans, focusing on first mile excellence, integrating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and leveraging AI to verify that sellers have plans assigned correctly. 
  • Drives special Incentive Programs implementation for strategic goals. 
  • Integrates AI to support the creation of audit checklists, path options, and workback plans to aid in implementation. 

 Orchestration & Solutioning: 

  • Oversee successful execution of in-flight changes to plans including end-to-end cross functional alignment and Implementation checks. 
  • Orchestrate process requirements across teams and provide Leaders with status updates. 
  • Identify opportunities for AI Optimization and/or process improvements. 
  • Monitors’ Segment plan health and defines issue resolution, as needed. 

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in compensation, business management and operations, finance and analytics, human resources and people analytics, marketing, or sales strategy OR equivalent experience. 

Additional or preferred qualifications 

  • Master of Business Administration Degree or Master's Degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science Engineering, or related field. 
  • 3+ years experience working in a matrixed organization, preferably in the technology industry. 
  • 3+ year(s) of project leadership/management experience. 

Sales Compensation IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
