How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice:
The Sales & Training Executive (STE) drives sales revenue in a multi-state/multi-province territory, managing a territory of service and non-service doors, by building strong retailer relationships, training and coaching store associates, side-by side-selling in stores, planning and executing in store events, maintaining, and negotiating merchandising standards as well as managing a team of Freelance Sales & Training Consultants, and/or Account Coordinators.
As a Sales and Training Executive, Los Angeles a typical day might include a mix of the following:
Strategy/Administrative
- In partnership with leader, develop territory strategy to reach retailer sales target and provide growth YOY, assuring focus on elevating the brand awareness to reach maximum ROI.
- In partnership with direct reports, develop and execute territory event door strategy to provide YOY growth and deliver weekly results and feedback to leadership.
- Plan, oversee, schedule and execute territory call cycle for maximum business growth based on the needs of the business.
- Manage, coach, and track sales and training performance for all direct reports and freelancers and communicate opportunities and problem-solving strategies to leader.
- Participate and help prepare Bi-Weekly and Monthly B&M meetings and communicate any business opportunities within territory.
- Maintain organization and coach direct report organization to ensure deadlines are being met, including but not limited to calendars, T&E budgets, weekly sales recaps, event recaps, store visit recaps, store visit schedules, travel bookings and other administrative responsibilities.
- Manage and audit timekeeping/payroll procedures according to payroll timelines for all direct reports, including freelance Sales and Training Consultants.
HR/People Leadership
- Conduct and participate in regular touch bases with team to assure strong communication and partnership alignment.
- Recruit, interview and onboard all new direct reports in partnership with leadership, HR, and Education team.
- Develop direct reports in areas of success and opportunity in partnership with leader and HR to maintain retention.
- Diplomatically address and resolve any store level challenges to maintain strong relationships and ensure solid brand integrity.
Training Support
- Provide consistent onboarding, training and management for all direct reports and freelance Sales and Training Consultants in your territory.
- Participate in product training webinars, in-person trainings and special education focused events to build expertise in the brand and category and partner with Education Manager in the field to coach and execute high level trainings.
- Coach team on successful implementation of all sales and training support tools regarding new product launches and daily in-store visits to achieve 5-star service scores.
- Identify elevated training opportunities and support leader in negotiation and execution in partnership with Education team.
Sales Support
- Plan and execute in-store events including elevated brand experience events and provide strategic in-store partnership to achieve sales targets.
- Communicate all store level feedback in a timely manner.
- Execute regular business reviews with in-store retail partners to communicate trending business and negotiate elevated store training opportunities and event strategies to drive retail sales growth.
- Coach and execute on maintaining of the highest level of standards to all merchandising guidelines and in-store activations.
- Manage any out of stock or visual merchandising needs with team and retail partners, following all retailer brand guidelines.
The Details:
- Hours: Full-time role that will require flexibility to work some evenings, weekends and some holidays
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand up to 8 hours on your feet in stores
- Travel requirements: Up to 80 % travel, territories can vary based on geographical areas and are subject to change based on business needs (*Transportation costs policy will be covered in the interview process)
- 20% Office/ Administrative Time: To include but not limited to: onboarding & ongoing training, booking in-store visits & travel, expense reports, store visit and event recaps, weekly communications, etc.
- Los Angeles area with proximity to high volume locations; reliable transportation required
What you’ll bring to the table:
- 3+ years of beauty industry experience or equivalently relevant qualified experience
- 2+ years Sephora training and selling experience
- 2+ years managing a multi-state or multi-province/multi-door territory
- 1+ years Sephora EDU portal/ scheduling experience
- 1+ years of experience in a role with direct reports
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and develop a team
- Knowledge of clinical, cosmetics techniques and procedures, along with business terminology
- Valid Passport and ability to travel up to 80%
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to the business needs, including evenings and weekends
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build positive/effective business partnerships both internally and externally
- Effective and engaging training skills that deliver consistent sales results
- Proven ability to build relationships, drive sales and provide outstanding customer service to both the paying customer and the retailer partner customer
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to work limited hours for home office time, joining virtual meetings in our camera-on culture
- Ability to work both autonomously as well as with a team
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to set and achieve sales goals
- Ability to quickly learn new technology and effectively use that technology to meet the demands of the role
- Must have proof of insurance, current and valid driver’s license, and reliable means of transportation. Standard IRS reimbursement for mileage.
- Experience with Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook
- Flexible and amenable to changes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Must be able to multi-task while accommodating changing priorities
Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:
$90,000 - $95,000 USD/annually

Paula’s Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
