Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Rubrik Administrator to manage, optimize, and support our enterprise backup and recovery environment. This role requires hands-on expertise in configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Rubrik backup solutions while ensuring data protection best practices are followed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backup and disaster recovery solutions, storage management, and cloud-based backup strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Rubrik Administration & Management:
- Deploy, configure, and manage Rubrik backup and recovery solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.
- Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of backup jobs.
- Perform upgrades, patches, and maintenance of the Rubrik platform.

Backup & Recovery Operations:
- Manage and monitor daily backup and restore operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, performance issues, and replication problems.
- Validate backup jobs and conduct periodic recovery testing.
- Maintain backup retention policies and ensure compliance with data governance regulations.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
- Develop and document disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Perform backup and disaster recovery drills to ensure data availability in case of outages.
- Assist in designing and implementing cloud-based backup strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Security & Compliance:
- Ensure data encryption, immutability, and ransomware protection strategies are in place.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2, and ISO 27001.
- Manage role-based access control (RBAC) within the Rubrik environment.

Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with IT, security, and infrastructure teams to align backup solutions with business needs.
- Provide end-user training and support related to backup and recovery processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and runbooks.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience managing Rubrik backup solutions in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of backup methodologies, replication, retention policies, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience with Rubrik Polaris, CDM (Cloud Data Management), and archival solutions (AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCP Storage).
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, VMware, Nutanix, and cloud-based workloads.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, or API integration with Rubrik).
- Understanding of networking, storage technologies (NAS, SAN, NFS, CIFS), and virtualization.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA) and security best practices.
