Locus Robotics is a leader in the rapidly growing eCommerce order fulfillment optimization space. Our solution helps warehouse owners attain 2-3X efficiency improvement over cart-picking operations, by empowering pickers to work collaboratively with our robots. All this is accomplished while integrating with the operator’s Warehouse Management System, utilizing and optimizing existing facility infrastructure. This is an opportunity to join the ranks of a brilliant, high performance team, deploying cutting-edge technology to address real-world logistics challenges for major global brands.

The Robotics Mechanical / Test Engineering Internship will support the engineering team in testing, validating, and improving robotic systems used in warehouse automation.

This 2026 Summer Internship provides hands-on experience working with electromechanical hardware, test processes, and prototype robotic systems. The intern will assist engineers in evaluating product performance, supporting new product development, and helping ensure our robotic systems meet quality and reliability standards.

This experience offers an excellent learning opportunity to work directly with engineers and technicians on real-world robotics systems and testing environments.

This role is on-site based out of Nashua, NH. Local candidates only.

  • Collect, organize, and analyze test data to support engineering decisions.
  • Assist in preparing test documentation, reports, and procedures for internal engineering teams.
  • Support lab setup and maintenance, including test fixtures, equipment, and prototype systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, software, and quality engineering.
  • Participate in product validation activities and help ensure systems meet performance and reliability expectations.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work on-site (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm) for the 2026 Summer internship period (May/June – August, 2026).
  • Undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at an accredited college or university studying Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, robotics hardware, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, CAD models, or mechanical design tools is a plus.
  • Experience with hand tools, lab equipment, or prototype hardware is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Strong team orientation with a collaborative mindset and professional presence.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Previous internship, lab, robotics club, or hands-on engineering project experience is a plus.
