As a Market Risk Associate - Cryptocurrency and Digital Assets on the Commercial and Investment Bank Risk team, you will help design and formalise the market risk framework for digital assets across businesses, with a particular focus on tokenization and crypto market structure. You will conduct research on evolving market dynamics and provide decision-ready risk insights as new forms of digital assets emerge. In this role, you will bring hands-on experience with digital assets and tokenisation, strong market risk knowledge, and an ability to translate complex, rapidly changing developments into practical risk management standards. Our Market Risk team is expanding capabilities in the oversight and analysis of risk arising from cryptocurrencies and digital assets.
Job Resonsibilities
  • Produce Market Intelligence and Research on cryptocurrency and digital asset markets.
  • Collaborate with Trading, Technology, Research, Compliance & Quantitative Risk teams to help review new crypto and digital asset products and provide Risk oversight of this activity.
  • Collaborate in designing a strong risk management framework for new activity.
  • Build new analytical tools and views to track cryptocurrency markets & digital assets.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline.
  • Deep knowledge of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and blockchain architecture (i.e. Proof-of-work vs. Proof-of-stake), including the ability to assess the risk & operational protocols of a particular blockchain.
  • Knowledge of crypto market mechanics & trading settlement structures (i.e. understanding of main crypto exchanges, margin rules & liquidity)
  • Familiarity with the current suite of products traded in the cryptocurrency market. Ability to describe the current dynamics in crypto spot and derivatives, stablecoin mechanics, staking yields, tradeable tokens and funding markets. Experience within cryptocurrency trading or risk management is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DeFi mechanics (i.e. staking, tokenisation, cross-chain bridges, and structuring of smart contracts).
  • Experience with US regulatory framework for the tokenisation of assets (in particular, Genius Act, ERC-20, ERC-721, BEP-20 & SPL token development & compliance).
  • Programming experience such as python with ability to use technology to analyse data & streamline processes.
