Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking an experienced C# Developer to support our risk management team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and leadership abilities. They should be proactive, reliable, and highly skilled in C#, .NET, and general software design patterns and system design. Additionally, the successful candidate should have experience with SQL, relational databases, and ORM technologies. This position will have the opportunity to grow into a leadership role in regard to staffing and managing, building, and maintaining the risk system.

5-10 years of experience with portfolio management systems, risk modeling engines, risk analysts and reporting systems, or OMS systems is required.

Prior experience building large-scale proprietary risk management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Use C# and .NET to design, develop, and maintain software systems that support risk management and portfolio analytics.

  • Collaborate with other software engineers, risk analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Communicate project statuses, technical issues, and resolutions clearly and effectively to stakeholders and team members.

  • Prepare technical documentation and system diagrams to assist with the ongoing support and maintenance of software applications.

  • Participate in code reviews, maintain a high standard of code quality, and ensure adherence to the team’s coding conventions and industry best practices.

  • Continuously improve the architecture and design of existing systems for scalability, performance, and maintainability
