We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Revenue Accounting to lead our global revenue accounting, order management and accounts receivable functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and compliant quote-to-cash across all regions, optimizing systems like Salesforce and NetSuite, and partnering cross-functionally to support international operations. 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Revenue Accounting to lead our Revenue Accounting, Order Management and Accounts Receivable functions. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with ASC 606, and operational efficiency across the quote-to-cash cycle. This role will oversee a global team, optimize systems and processes, and collaborate cross-functionally to support scalable growth. 

This position reports directly to the VP, Controller and plays a key leadership role within the Finance organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership & Planning 

  • Lead strategic planning and execution for global revenue operations, aligning with company growth and financial goals.  
  • Contribute to the development of long-term Finance strategy, particularly in revenue-related areas 
  • Evaluate complex revenue challenges and direct the development of innovative, scalable solutions. 

Revenue Accounting & Recognition 

  • Oversee global revenue accounting and recognition processes in compliance with ASC 606 and applicable international standards.  
  • Provide guidance for customer contracts and sales arrangements to determine appropriate revenue treatment.  
  • Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies and documentation across global entities.  
  • Oversee timely and accurate revenue close, reconciliations, and reporting. 

Order Management 

  • Oversee the order management function to ensure accurate order processing, billing, and revenue alignment. 
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations and Customer Success to streamline order-to-cash workflows. 
  • Implement controls and best practices to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency. 

Systems & Process Optimization 

  • Leverage Salesforce, NetSuite, and other applicable tools to streamline and automate revenue operations 
  • Design scalable revenue processes that support global growth and complexity 
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to optimize quote-to-cash workflows 
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with global stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure alignment on revenue-related matters 
  • Provide training and guidance on revenue recognition policies and systems 
  • Support deal structuring and pricing discussions from a revenue compliance perspective 

Audit & Compliance 

  • Review revenue-related schedules and documentation for external audits across jurisdictions 
  • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls over revenue processes 
  • Support reporting requirements for private equity stakeholders and board-level presentations 

Team Leadership 

  • Manage and mentor a global team of revenue accountants, order management and accounts receivable professionals 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement 
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics for the revenue recognition function 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred 
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, preferably in SaaS or technology 
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience managing managers or senior professionals 
  • Deep understanding of ASC 606 and multi-element arrangements across international markets 
  • Experience in a high-growth, global environment 
  • Strong contract review and technical accounting skills 
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and develop scalable processes 

Preferred 

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, and other revenue recognition tools 
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and international audit preparation 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and time zones 
  • Prior team leadership experience in a global setting

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $151800 – 242900. In addition, this role is eligible for bonus. Black Duck offers a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.



Pay Range
$151,800$242,900 USD
