AIS is supporting federal customer with a program focused on architecture and infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for new cloud architecture design, development and integration of new architectural features into existing cloud infrastructures while maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
Lead multi-disciplined teams in the design and implementation of the cybersecurity system architecture.
Able to apply cyber security standards, directives, guidance and policies to a cloud architectural framework.
Compile industry best practices and lessons learned into future iterations and new designs for the cloud hosting environment.
Provide broad based experience in the systems engineering lifecycle and specific cyber security initiatives relating to cloud architectural design and development.
Resolve cloud architecture implementation issues during integration and test.
Interface with different entities - internal and external to the enterprise.
Considered a recognized authority within the company.
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.
Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience supporting, designing, and engineering research, development, or experimental systems in secure or mission‑focused environments.
Extensive experience designing, integrating, and operating complex systems across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments to support research and prototyping efforts.
Strong hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or others), including automation, system optimization, scalability, and secure system operations.
Solid understanding of system and cloud security principles, including access controls, monitoring, configuration management, vulnerability mitigation, and compliance considerations.
Active Secret clearance or higher, with ability to support classified or mission‑critical research programs.
IAT Level II certification (DoD 8570/8140 compliant) and one or more cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience supporting DoD/IC programs and mission systems.
