Orca’s vision is to build a financial system that puts people first. We envision a future where the majority of global financial transactions are driven by CLAMMs and other Decentralized Finance (DeFi) products. Our ambition reaches beyond becoming the leading provider of financial primitives in crypto—we aim to reshape the foundation of finance itself. We are building the next NASDAQ. If you are someone who is tired of just working another job and wants to build something meaningful, then we invite you to join our team.

What you’ll do
  • Own participant operations – Lead end‑to‑end recruitment: design and iterate screeners, creatively source elusive crypto‑native users, coordinate scheduling, and manage incentives that keep participants engaged.

  • Systematize research workflows – Define and maintain SOPs; own and optimise our tooling stack (Tally, Sprig, Notion, Zapier, etc.); and ensure every study adheres to GDPR and ethical standards.

  • Command logistics & budget – Track timelines, incentive spend, and the annual Research Ops budget; surface operational KPIs (lead time, show‑rate, cost per participant) and drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring
  • Operational chops – 2+ years in Research Ops, participant recruitment, or similar role in a remote, high‑growth tech or crypto environment.

  • Crypto‑native perspective – Understanding of Solana crypto‑Twitter culture; personal experience Solana DeFi protocols.

  • Creative + analytical thinking – Ability to zoom out for big‑picture strategy while keeping in mind the operational details; you naturally put yourself in the user’s shoes. Comfortable creative problem solving to meet users where they’re at while keeping meticulous records.

  • Documentation skills – Own the source-of-truth: craft clear candidate profiles, keep the user database clean and searchable while saturated with knowledge that counts and curate small “always-on” panels so the team can tap the right participants fast.

  • Automation mindset – Fluency with spreadsheets/databases and light scripting or Zapier to eliminate manual drudge‑work.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
